5 Color Changing Cocktails with Butterfly Pea Flowers

The Butterfly Pea Flower is grown in Asia and the dried flowers are often made into a tea and for cocktails, made into a butterfly pea flower simple syrup.  The magical tricks abound when you mix this dark blue butterfly pea flower tea with acidic ingredients such as lemon or tonic water.  Cocktails will turn from blue to light purple or soft pink with the more acid that you use.  For the opposite result, add alkaline ingredients like cucumber or green tea and watch your drinks turn more turquoise.

Give it a try with our LITTLE VIOLETA COCKTAIL KIT that includes these 4 cocktails.

The Little Violeta - pineapple juice and dried mandarin
Strawberry Heart - strawberry and basil simple syrup, lemon juice
Citrus Passion - citrus passion syrup, club soda, lime juice
Butterfly French 75 - lemon juice, simple syrup, sparkling wine

Also, the Cucumber Blue - the turquoise beauty.

Muddle cucumber, basil, and mint. Add ice and 2 oz Gin. Shake, single strain into a glass with fresh ice, add drops of butterfly pea syrup as desired. Top with soda water. Garnish with cucumber ribbon and basil.
