Last week, our subscribers received their February cocktail kit delivery. This fabulous gin cocktail, the Juliet & Romeo*, was created by Toby Maloney for the Violet Hour in Chicago. We think this cocktail feels like a late summer tryst in an English garden, which is exactly what us poor souls in the polar vortex need about now.
Here's the first of two packages subscribers received. This one is filled with the mixers, fresh ingredients, recipes and specialty tools needed to recreate the Juliet & Romeo at home. Let's break it down:
- Angostura Bitters
- Fee Brother's Rose Water
- Wilks and Wilson Gertrude's Gomme
- Fresh limes, mint, and cucumber
- wood muddler
- salt shaker
- Cocktail napkins and complete cocktail recipe card, including ideas for food pairing and additional gin cocktails
Along with the physical goodies was our custom content, with the main Juliet & Romeo recipe card, four classic gin cocktail recipes (Martini, Gimlet, French 75, and Negroni) and a detailed list of suggested food pairings.
Our second package to subscribers featured the sultry main ingredient itself, Bloom Gin. Once out of the box, subscribers had everything they needed to mix many a Juliet & Romeo into the star-crossed night.
*Finally, Juliet gets top billing! Another reason we love this cocktail.
